Ms. Patricia Obrzut, M.S., O.T.R/L. a recognized expert and premier educator in Active Learning theory from the Penrickton Center for Blind Children will be providing you with tips and tools to incorporate this fresh and pioneering approach into your curriculum. Learn how to increase functional independence and developmental skills while reducing stereotypical, self-injurious or aggressive behaviors. Training is designed for service providers and parents working with children from developmental level birth to age 3 years. Active Learning equipment and materials will be present throughout the training.

Registration Deadline: June 19, 2017

Scholarship: Scholarships are available for registration and hotel costs for individuals working with students who are on the Wisconsin deafblind census. To apply for the scholarship, complete the Scholarship Request Form.

Credit Registration: WDBTAP has partnered with UW-Eau Claire to offer credit. This course is being offered at a tuition rate of $89 for one undergraduate credit or $109 for one graduate credit. Participants must attend both days of the training to be eligible for credits and complete the required assignment after the event. Registration materials will be available at the Tips & Tools training.

Accommodations: Participants are responsible for making their hotel reservation. A block of rooms has been held under WDBTAP at the WI state lodging rate or $82 until June 19, 2017. For reservations contact: The Best Western Baraboo Inn, (608) 356-1100 725, W. Pine St. Baraboo, WI 53913

Transportation: Baraboo is located 45 minutes North of the Dane County regional airport in Madison, WI. There is no public transportation between Baraboo and Madison.
