The actual cost of the EIPA is $350 per test. As a benefit to Wisconsin Educational Interpreters, the DPI has set aside funds to underwrite some of this fee. Therefore, the EIPA is available to Wisconsin Educational Interpreters at the reduced fee of $100.

To register for the EIPA, complete the Online EIPA Registration. The online form will provide you with the opportunity to indicate your preferences for test dates, times and location. DPI uses RegOnline for registration and allows you to pay with your credit card.

If you choose to pay by check, you will need to submit and send your payment of $100. Please note: We will not schedule your EIPA slot until payment is received. Once we receive your payment, we will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Your check, made out to DPI – EIPA, should be sent to:

Outreach Services for the the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deafblind
Attn: Office Associate

A confirmation letter with your date and time will be sent once your online registration and payment have been received.

All EIPA tapes are scored by teams at Boys Town National Research Hospital; EIPA Diagnostic Center. Expect four to six months to get your results. Your test results include a comprehensive diagnostic report.

For license renewal, it is strongly suggested that you take the EIPA at least one year prior to the expiration date of your license. For those whose license expires anytime during the next school year, schedule the test for this summer. You are encouraged to take the EIPA early to avoid last minute stress.
